Cambridge Pianoforte started in the University City of Cambridge (Cambridge UK) over 30 years ago. The aims and objectives of our Cambridge piano shop are to provide a first class service to pianists and musicians both amateur and professional.
Over the years, we have promoted and actively supported countless concerts, musical festivals, and other music events. Many of these are with international artists such as Radu Lupu, Mitsuko Uchida, Natalie Clein and Tom Poster.
Pre-owned, Restored and New Pianos
We can offer pre-owned, new and restored pianos. We also have a ‘String Room‘, selling string instruments, old and new: violins, violas and ‘cellos, plus a small selection of other instruments, such as mandolins. Tim Sparrow will help you.
Our staff are responsible for preparing and tuning instruments in the main concert venues in Cambridge. These include the Cambridge Corn Exchange, The West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge Arts Theatre, and the majority of the Cambridge Colleges.
Our work is not just restricted to the Cambridge area: we maintain instruments as far away as Kings College London and the Norfolk coast.
Servicing is also key to maintaining your piano in top order. We can help with this, too.
Our removal team is skilled and experienced when it comes to moving your piano. You have the reassurance that your instrument is in expert hands. Cassian Bull, who heads up the removals team, has been with us for 30 years and has a sharp mind for the practicalities of safely and carefully moving your piano.
Piano restoration has long been a part of our operations. Our skilled craftsmen, including Marcel Kunkel and Jonathan Barton, restore and re-vitalise tired and lacklustre instruments back to their full glory. You can see examples of their work on the restoration page – click here.
Hire and Hire-to-buy
In short, across all of our services, our professionals are highly skilled in their work. They will assist you in whatever way they can.
